8 Drug & Traffic Charges Follow Pre-Dawn Arrest

A pre-dawn traffic-stop by Clinton Public Safety led to eight drug and traffic charges yesterday for 36-year-old Jeffrey Ronald Taylor of 122 Spartan Drive, Gray Court.

Clinton Public Safety Officer Anthony Harris issued tickets charging Taylor with Unlawful Use of a Tag on a Vehicle, Failure to Register a Vehicle, Operating an Uninsured Vehicle and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia at 5:03 Thursday morning on South Broad Street. Jeffery Taylor was served with warrants later yesterday charging him with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Schedule 2 Controlled Substance, Possession of a Schedule 4 Controlled Substance and 2nd Offense Driving under Suspension.

The warrants allege that Taylor had less than one gram of clear crystal-type substance believed to be meth in his possession on South Broad Street near Springdale Drive yesterday, along with 3 pills identified as Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone and 2 pills identified as Alprozolam. A DUS warrant states he was driving yesterday on South Broad near Springdale while his license was suspended due to pay a ticket.

Jeffery Ronald Taylor remained in custody this morning with bonds on the new charges totaling $7,500 cash or surety and $1,200 personal recognizance.
