Multiple Reports of Early Morning Shooting

Laurens City Police this week received multiple reports regarding a shooting. The initial report dispatched officers at 17 minutes after midnight Monday morning after a woman told of two males firing some five shots at each other in the roadway on Camp Circle, near Lurey Street. She said both males were wearing jeans and white t-shirts. One fled the scene in a red Crown Vic, while the other fled on foot. Officers reported finding two, silver .45 caliber shell casings in a yard. The next day, officers were called to Lurey Street where a man reported finding one shell casing in his tire tread and three bullet holes in his house. He indicated he had heard shooting the night before and saw one car leaving that had brake lights covering the back of the vehicle.

Another area resident also told police that her home had been struck by a bullet. She noted it made a hole in her siding near the front door.
