  • Braves 2 – Mets 0… Yesterday afternoon the Braves and the Mets completed their short 2-game series in Atlanta and the Braves were able to bring out the short-series brooms as they took a 2-0 win over the Mets… The Braves outhit the Mets 8-2 and Freddie Freeman had 2 hits that had a big part in the Braves two runs… He singled in the 4th inning to drive in Dansby Swanson and then in the 8th he had a solo homer his 14th round-tripper of the season… Braves rookie pitcher Mike Soroka pitched 6⅓ innings giving up just 1 hit in his first start since coming of a month-long stint on the disabled list… The Braves remain at home and start a 4-game series with the Padres tonight at Sun Trust Park.
  • Drive… The Greenville Drive played a doubleheader yesterday with the Rome Braves making up a rained out game from back in April… In the first game which was scheduled to go just 7 innings but it went 8 and the Braves took a 9-8 win over the Drive… The Drive trailed 7-3 after 4 innings of play but battled back to tie the game in the bottom of the 7th inning only to have the Braves score 3 in the top of the 8th and the Drive could only get one of them back in the bottom of the inning as the Braves took the 9-8 in…. The second game was a 7 inning contest also and the news is better for Drive fans as they took a 6-4 win over the Baby Braves… This was a come from behind win for the Drive as they scored 3 in the bottom of the 6th inning and then held the Braves scoreless in the top of the inning to take the win…. The teams will finish their current series tonight at Flour Field.
