Shrine Race Results…The Annual Shrine Race was held at the Laurens County Speedway Tuesday night so let’s take a quick look at the results.

  • Carolina Clash Super Late Model…  Ross Bailes took the checkered flag and the big pay check in this division like he has done at least 3 times before… Rambo Franklin and Joey Coulter were the next two across the finish line… Bailes had the strongest car in qualifying and pretty much led wire to wire.
  • 604 Crate… Trent Ivey took the win in the 604 Crate Division leading from start to finish with Larry and Dale Timms finishing second and third respectively.
  • Thunder Bombers… Dusty Eaves picked up his third win of the season at the LCS in the Thunder Bombers followed across the finish line by Casey Lawson and Troy Bagwell… Eaves took the lead early in the race and then had to fight off a strong challenge by Lawson.
  • 4-Cylinder… Rod Tucker had the poll in the 4-Cylinder Division and used it to his advantage as he rolled to the win almost 5 seconds ahead of second place finisher Larry Teal… Stacy Brock finished third.
  • 602 Crate… Dustin Morris took the checkered flag in the 602 Crate main event with Chris Patterson coming in second… The real fight was for third place where Billy Ruston was finally able to claim that spot in the finish.
  • Front-wheel Drive… Mason Mack started on the poll in the Front-Wheel Drive main event and held off an early challenge from Travis Jamieson to take the win… Jamieson eventually finished third with Michael Burner taking second.

Pros …Click on the scores of the following for more information about the contest.

  • Braves 4 – Padres 2… The Braves and the Padres started their 34-game series in Atlanta last night and the padres outhit the Braves 8-5 but that is not what counts as the Braves defeated the Padres 4-2… The Braves led 3-0 going into the 8th inning when the Padres tried to come back scoring their two runs but the Braves would let them get no closer and added an insurance run in the bottom of the 8th to make the final score 4-2.
  • Drive 3 –Rome 2 (11)… The Greenville Drive finished their 5-game series with the Rome Braves last night at Flour Field and it took them 11 innings to do it but they took a 3-2 win over the Baby Braves… The game had a lot of hit (18 total) but only the five runs as the hits were pretty well scattered… A bases loaded walk in the 11th inning was the difference in the game…  The Drive travel down I-26 to the coast of South Carolina as they take on the Charleston RiverDogs this weekend.
