Drug P.W.I.D., Conspiracy, on Marion Street

Multiple Drug Distribution and Possession charges came from alleged activity on Marion Street in Laurens Friday.

Laurens City Police charged 41-year-old Joseph Allen Ewell of 675 Lake Road, Clinton with 2nd Offense, Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine and with 2nd Offense, Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine. Ewell was also charged with Possession of MDMA “Ecstasy” along with two counts, Possession of a Schedule 4 Controlled Substance.

Warrants cited the investigation of Officer Van Pelt and noted other officers as witnesses to the violations. One warrant states that Joseph Allen Ewell was in possession of 1.94 grams of methamphetamines on Marion Street Friday, further stating that criminal history indicates he has one prior conviction of a meth-related offense. Another warrant states that Ewell was in possession of .54 gram of cocaine, noting that criminal history indicates he had one prior conviction of a meth/cocaine offense. A third warrant states that the defendant was in possession of MDMA, also known as “Ecstasy,” which was concealed about his person during a search, incident to his arrest on Marion Street Friday. Two warrants accuse him of being in unlawful possession of schedule 4 controlled substances, stating that he was also in possession of Tramadol and Alprazolam on Marion Street Friday.

During arraignment, $40,000 bonds were set on each of the two 2nd Offense Possession with Intent to Distribute warrants. Joseph Allen Ewell remained in the Laurens County Detention Center this morning with cash or surety bonds totaling $100,000 on all five drug charges.

 

Heather Garrison

A female suspect was also arrested on charges from Marion Street Friday. Laurens Police charged 47-year-old Heather Gaffney Garrison of 103 Saluca Court, Greenwood with Criminal Conspiracy and Possession of Less than One Gram of Meth. One warrant cites the investigation of Officer Van Pelt as indicating that on July 6th on Marion Street Ms. Garrison committed Criminal Conspiracy by claiming responsibility for the contents of a hand-written ledger that contained the prices and sales of illegal drugs. This leger was allegedly directly used to promote and advance a criminal enterprise based on the distribution of illegal substances. She is also accused of having .30 gram of methamphetamine Friday on Marion Street. Heather Gaffney Garrison remained in custody this morning with bonds totaling $30,000 on her two warrants.
