  • Sunday: B3 Min 15 – Irmo 7… In their second game on Sunday the Minors took a 15-7 win over Irmo… Laurens actually trailed 4-3 going into the top of the 4th inning where they struck for 5 runs to go up 8-4… Irmo came right back in the bottom of the inning and plated 3 runs to the Laurens lead to 8-7… Those would be the last runs scored by Irmo as Laurens added 3 in the 5th inning and 4 in the 6th to take the 15-7 win… Laurens only outhit Irmo 8-7 but Irmo aided the Laurens cause by making 13 errors, walking 8 and the Irmo pitchers had 13 wild pitches… Three Laurens pitchers had better control as they struck out 7, walked 7 and had only 3 wild pitches… Tristan Buzbee was the only Laurens player to get more than 1 hit as he had 2…… To see the box score and stats for the game click here…. Laurens 11-Under All-Stars (B3 11-U)

  • Saturday: Northwood 10 – B3 11-U 6… The Laurens Little League 10-Under All-Star team was in action down in Summerville yesterday in that age group’s State Tournament… They played an always tough Northwood team and fell by a score of 10-6 in 10 innings… Jared Willard pitched 5 innings, giving up 4 runs and struck out 6… Kamron Pittman and Buster Harris both had 2 RBIs. With Buster going 2 for 4 and Kam 1 for 3… Northwood hit a 3 run homer in the top of the 10th inning off Zach Crowe and plated another via a throwing error. The team could not answer in the bottom half of the inning.
  • Sunday: Greenville 9 – Laurens 3… The B3 11 & under All-Stars were back in action early Sunday afternoon against Greenville and again the news is not what I like to report as Greenville took and 9-3 win over Laurens thus eliminating the team from the tournament…. According to Coach Willard the team was fatigued and didn’t hit the ball well… The only bright side was Jyheem Coleman pitched the final 2 innings only allowing 1 hit and while striking out 4… Offensively Buster Harris was 1 for 2 with an RBI, Josh Goodwin was 1 for 2 with 2 RBIs and was hit by pitch, Jyheem Coleman was 1 for 3, and Jared Willard was 1 for 3 with a double… Overall defensively Saturday was good but Sunday was kind of rocky because we seemed to be fatigued from the day before, but ended strong… Pitching was very good in both games, we threw a lot of strikes, and that’s all you can ask from a pitcher… Hitting the ball hurt us both games, for whatever reason our bats seemed to never come alive except to start Saturday’s game and to end the game on Sunday.

Clinton O-Zone All-Stars

  • Saturday: N. Myrtle Beach 11 – Clinton 0… The Clinton O-Zone All-Stars opened up their participation in the State Tournament in Union on Saturday with an 11-0 loss to North Myrtle Beach… The story in this game is a simple one in that Clinton did not hit the ball well getting only 2 hits in the 4 inning game… To see the box score of the game, click here..
  • Sunday: Clinton 11 – Greenwood 0… The news is better in the game on Sunday as the Clinton bats were hot as they pounded out 11 hits and scored 11 runs to take a 11-0 win over Greenwood (from the Florence area) and remain alive in the tournament… Clinton scored 4 runs in the top of the 1st inning and 7 in the 4th while Caleb Taylor and Zane McClendon held Greenwood to just 1 hit while striking out 10 and walking 2… Three Clinton players had two hits each and to see who they were click here to see the box score… Clinton takes on Seneca today at 4:00 pm in another elimination game.
