Local Notes:

Laurens Little League Minors (b3) Fall to Northwood in Title Game

  • Northwood 5 – B3 Minors 2… The Laurens Little League (B3) Minors entered last night’s game with undefeated Northwood know exactly what they had to do to capture the state championship, win last night to force a winner take all game today and win again… In the top of the 1st inning it looked like Laurens was well on the way to doing that as Braden Patterson led off with a single and Dee Suber followed with a single to move him up…  During the play Northwood had a throwing error that allowed Patterson to score but Suber was tagged out trying to get to third during the play… After that, Northwood settled down and it would be a while before Laurens got on the board again… Northwood tied the game in the bottom of the 1st and then took the lead for good plating another run in the bottom of the 2nd inning… Northwood scored their final 3 runs in the 3rd inning off starter Samuel Adams before Dee Suber came in to the game to relieve him shutting them down the rest of the way… Laurens battled each and every inning but just could not get the clutch hit at the right time until the 5th inning when Wyatt Pinson, Patterson and Suber were all able to single brining in Pinson with Laurens final run… After the game Coach Suber was quick to praise his team for never giving up the entire tournament and giving all they had… To see the box score and stats for the game click here and to see the game’s score card click here… Congratulations to the team for a fine showing in the tournament!
