Local Notes

Laurens County Speedway… Looking at the results in each division’s main event last Saturday night we find;

  • Front-Wheel Drive… The Front-Wheel Drive main event had 6 cautions during the first three laps in what was a wild race with drivers getting disqualified for accidents while under caution… In the end it was Alex Woodward who took the checkered flag first… Jason Bishop finished 2nd and Chuck Bellor 3rd.
  • Limited… Larry Timms was the top driver in the Limited main event as he qualified with the fastest time… When the race started he and Michael Smith battled for the top spot all race long with Timms coming out on top… In the battle for 3rd place Tony Quarles edged out Frank Coates.
  • SCEA 604 Crate… This division’s main event saw Bryan Mullis start on the inside of row 2 but did not stay there long as he worked his way to the lead early in the race and then went on to the win… Brad Rachels and Taylor Puckett were the next two to get the checkered flag in that order.
  • 602 Crate… In the 602 Crate main event, Dustin Morris took the win leading wire-to-wire… This race also had several cautions and Matt Dean was able to finish 2nd while Chris Patterson took 3rd.
  • Thunder Bombers… This race also had a caution right off the start as cars got tangled up on the first lap… On the second green flag Dan Lawson jumped out to the lead and stayed there to take the win… In the battle for second, Dylan Chappell edged out Dusty Eaves.
  • 4-Cylinders… The main event in the 4-Cylinders division was unusual for the night as it had no cautions… Larry Teal won the race leading from start to finish… Wayne Summers was second and Scott Nelson was third.
  • Enduro… In the Enduro main event, Robbie Hartman had the pole and from there he jumped out to a fast start and then was just too fast to be caught winning the race… Eric Caughorn was the next driver to take the checkered flag followed by Josh Jackson.
