Laurens County Library Announces College Colors Library Cards

The Laurens County Library is kicking off Library Card Sign Up Month with a chance for you to show your sporting colors! Come in and sign up for a library card, and for a limited time you can choose either a garnet card to show your support for USC Gamecocks or an orange card to show your support for Clemson Tigers. We are making a friendly competition of this and will be tracking how many cards we issue of each color. On November 16, we will tally our numbers, and the winning school color will rule for the week before the big game: staff members will wear the colors, and flags will be flying at each library and on the bookmobile. Library Director Ann Szypulski says, “The question is whether it will be the colors of the USC Gamecocks or that other team.”

Library Cards are free of charge and are for all Laurens County residents of any age. Just bring your ID and proof of address to the Laurens Library, the Clinton Library or the Bookmobile. A parent or guardian will need to fill out the application and sign for cards for children under fourteen. People who work in Laurens County are also eligible for a free card. If you currently have an unexpired library card, a $1.00 replacement fee will get you a new garnet or orange card. (Or you can choose one of our other 6 card colors, including PC blue.)

So sign up for a card, discover everything the library has to offer and show your colors!
