Notes From Monday Night’s Laurens CPW Meeting

At Monday night’s meeting of the Laurens CPW Board, the commission approved Resolution 18-03, which authorizes the purchase of natural gas from the Black Belt Energy Gas District, at a reduced price.

According to the resolution, “The Black Belt Energy Gas District is organized as an Alabama gas district, which is a public corporation organized by actions of member municipalities pursuant to the provisions of the Alabama Gas District Act, which was formed for the purpose of acquiring, financing and managing secure and economically priced supplies of natural gas.”

The commission went into executive session to discuss an economic development update, to which General Manager Young hinted that it could be regarding “Project Gator,” and a personnel matter, but no voting action was anticipated.
