Council Has Third Reading on Building Foundations

At Tuesday evening’s meeting of Laurens County Council,there was a public hearing and third reading vote on Ordianace 851 amending Ordinance 741, which recommends a foundation level increase on buildings, which was approved, with all but Councilman Jones voting yes.

Councilman Jones told council that he is voting against it due to a dispute regarding the flood plain, especially around Lake Greenwood.

Stewart said that the residents around the lake, which they feel will make their insurance higher.
