Michael, Blow the Boat Ashore?

South Carolinians are being advised to monitor Hurricane Michael as it could affect many parts of our state after making landfall on the Gulf Coast. The National Weather Service and the National Hurricane Center believe the state could experience periods of heavy rain, gusty winds and tornadoes as early as tomorrow.

With that news in mind, Laurens CPW General Manager John Young announced at the Commission’s October meeting last evening that he’s already been contacted by the Municipal Mutual Aid Group. Young told the Commissioners that local crews could be sent elsewhere to help, in the event they’re not needed here.
