Unlawful Pistol Possession, Plus…

Unlawful possession of a pistol yesterday was alleged on two men arrested by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office.

Intent to Distribute Meth yesterday was another of the charges served on 46-year-old Donald Earl Stanford Jr. of 2610 Highway 14, Laurens. Warrants were served charging Stanford with Unlawful Carrying of a Pistol, Possession of Meth with Intent to Distribute, Simple Possession of Marijuana and Attempt to Possess an Unlawful Substance.

Captain Robert Wilkie states that on October 10th Donald Earl Stanford Jr. possessed a quantity of meth in excess of one gram with intent to distribute and that Stanford knowingly and intentionally possessed less than 28 grams of marijuana. Prior drug convictions were noted. Captain Wilkie further states that Stanford was in possession of a Hi-Point 9mm handgun yesterday, without authorization.

Stanford is also facing drug charges from last fall. Investigator Charles Nations states that on December 10th Stanford attempted to obtain more than 9 grams of ephedrine/pseudoephedrine products during a 90-day period; in a visit to the Laurens Walmart at 922 East Main.

Also arrested yesterday was 52-year-old Shayne Gray Duckworth of 438 Ghost Creek Road, Laurens. He’s also accused of being in possession of a Hi-Point 9 mm handgun yesterday. A warrant notes that he is not allowed to have a firearm or ammunition because of conviction of a violent felony. He was also charged with Driving under Suspension and other vehicle violations.
