CHS

  • JV Football: Newberry 12 – Clinton 6 in OT…As you may recall, the Red Devil JV football game with Newberry last Thursday night at Wilder stadium was postponed due to Hurricane Michael… Well that game was made-up Monday night in Clinton and I hate to have to report that the Bulldogs took a 12-6 win in overtime… Danny Kinard got the Red Devils on the board first with a rushing TD in the first quarter… Both teams battled it out and Newberry tied the game 6-6 in the fourth quarter… Newberry then score in overtime to take the win… Clinton is now 4-3 on the season and 1-2 against region opponents… They will travel to Emerald for a 6:00.
  • Tennis: Clinton 6 – BHP 0… Also on Monday night the Red Devil girls’ tennis team traveled to BHP to take on the Bears… The rise back was a happy one as they took a 6-0 win over the Bears… Mary Catherine Dailey, Gerri Hill, Gracie Spangler, Kaitey Threatt, and Reese Gowan all took wins in singles action for the Red Devils… Only one of the doubles team played and that was the #2 doubles team made up of Mary Grace Johnson and Gracie Wiggins and they also took a win over their opponents… For more match details click here… With the win the team’s record stands at 8-4 overall and 5-2 in region play.

LDHS hopes to raise $55,000 to contribute towards the wishes of the athletic programs. Any funds raised will not supplant existing funding from LCSD 55 but we want to enhance the pride and possibilities inherent in our athletic programs… The funds raised will go toward ensuring adequate resources for travel to camps, scrimmages, and other activities that improve student-athlete performance but may stretch the regular season travel budget… The different coaches are compiling a “wish list” of items they would like to see the monies go toward… If you would like you to be a part of our Team of 1,000. Just a $55 gift from each member of our Team of 1,000 will help us reach our goal of $55,000. By donating to the Team of 1,000 fundraising campaign, you are helping the student-athlete experience; you are also joining many others in a commitment to athletic excellence in Laurens….
