This and That:

  • Joe Adair Outdoor Education Chicken Stew Fundraiser… It’s once again time to order your chicken stew (milk based) to help support the Joe Adair Outdoor Education Center… The center is used by students from both Laurens Districts 55 & 56 at all age levels… With school funds being stretched thinner and thinner each year the proceeds of this sale go to help maintain and improve the center and its popular walking trails… The strew will be $8.50 per quart and will be available for pickup from 10am until it’s gone on Friday, November 2nd… The stew sold out the last time they offered it so I strongly advise you pre-order the stew by calling the center at 864-984-5492 or emailing the center’s director Clay Cotney at : ccotney@laurens55.org…. Don’t let this chance to pick up some good food and help out a very worthwhile cause pass you by.
  • Raider Softball Chicken Stew Fundraiser… The Laurens Raider softball teams are also having a chicken stew fundraiser to help pay for things that the school budget just does not cover… The chicken stew will be $7.00 per quart and you MUST place your order by 11-2-18… The stew will be ready for pickup on 11-10-18… You can order your stew from any softball player (varsity or JV) and if you have trouble finding one can order it through Coach Smith… Her email address is msmith147@andersonuniversity.edu  or you can call / text her at 864-684-0110.

  • A Team of 1,000” Fundraising Campaign… Laurens District 55 High School (LDHS) with the support of Laurens County School District 55 (LCSD 55) is launching a Team of 1,000 athletic fundraising campaign. LDHS hopes to raise $55,000 to contribute towards the wishes of the athletic programs. Any funds raised will not supplant existing funding from LCSD 55 but we want to enhance the pride and possibilities inherent in our athletic programs… The funds raised will go toward ensuring adequate resources for travel to camps, scrimmages, and other activities that improve student-athlete performance but may stretch the regular season travel budget… The different coaches are compiling a “wish list” of items they would like to see the monies go toward… If you would like you to be a part of our Team of 1,000. Just a $55 gift from each member of our Team of 1,000 will help us reach our goal of $55,000. By donating to the Team of 1,000 fundraising campaign, you are helping the student-athlete experience; you are also joining many others in a commitment to athletic excellence in Laurens…. For more information on this including how you can join the team, click here… Please consider joining, I have.
