Awards for Clinton Decorations & Parade

Awards for Christmas decorations and parade participation were presented by Clinton City Council at their January meeting this week.

The 2018 Christmas Parade had the theme “A Family Christmas.” Awards for best entries in the parade included Patriot’s Kitchen, deemed best in the Commercial Division. Family Promise had the best parade entry in the Non-Profit Division. Among parade entries in the Educational category, Laurens Academy was the winner. The prize for Performing Groups went to Dancing Devils. Thornwell was awarded top honors for Best Adaptation of the Theme for the 2018 Christmas Parade.

Clinton City Council also presented “Spirit of Christmas” awards Monday night. Individual awards included Randy Lisenberger from Ward 1, Cynthia Tucker from Ward 2, Clattie Putman of Ward 3, Betty Campbell from Ward 4, Charles Childress of Ward 5 and James Gower in Ward 6.

A new category for the 2018 Christmas season was “Window Wonderland” This recognizes merchants with the best window displays. Emma Jane’s received the 3rd Place award, Sunshine City took 2nd Place and Sadler’s Apothecary was 1st Place winner in the new category.

The overall winner for total presentation from Clinton’s business community was Sunshine City.
