She’s Charged with Helping Him Escape

A man who reportedly failed to stop for deputies last month and a woman who allegedly helped him avoid arrest are now both also charged with Meth Manufacture.

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office yesterday booked 26-year-old Amanda Danielle Marler of 160 Frontier Drive, Laurens and charged her with Obstructing Justice and Manufacturing Meth. Sheriff’s Investigator Matt Veal states that Ms. Marler assisted with the escape from authorities of Kristopher Damian Burton between January 24th and yesterday, February 7th. Deputy Veal further states that Ms. Marler committed the crime of Meth Manufacture yesterday in that she had in her possession items used in the manufacturing of meth. She remained in the Johnson Detention Center overnight, awaiting a bond hearing.

Also arrested yesterday was 38-year-old Kristopher Damien Burton of 177 Flymm Smith Road, Waterloo. He’s charged with Failure to Stop for a Blue Light , Driving under Suspension and Manufacturing Methamphetamine. Investigator Matt Veal states that on January 23rd Kristopher Damian Burton failed to stop for a blue light, and this is a 2nd offense for this crime. Further, Burton was also allegedly driving while his license to drive was suspended. He’s also accused of having items used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine on January 23rd. Kristopher Damien Burton was held overnight, awaiting a bond hearing.
