Laurens Academy:

Crusaders start State Tournament Action This Weekend… Both Laurens Academy Crusader varsity basketball teams are coming off winning their region tournament last weekend and will start their participation in the SCISA Class A State Basketball Playoffs this weekend.

  • Girls: The # seeded Crusader girls will take on Clarendon Hall tomorrow at 6:30 in Gym B at Heathwood Hall in Columbia…  To see the entire Class A girls’ playoff bracket for the tournament click on the following: 2019 SCISA Class A Girls State Basketball Play-offs

SCHSL Girls Class AAA Playoff Games Involving Clinton Region Foes.

  • Emerald defeated Broome 65-25; host Fairfield-Central tonight who defeated Powdersville 38-31
  • Woodruff defeated Chesnee 65-32 and travels tonight to Keenan who defeated West Oak 69-25
  • Chapman defeated Union County 52-50.on Tuesday so Union is out.

 

Final Regular Season SCBCA Top 10 Polls… The Final regular season Top 10 Poll for all the SCHSL basketball classifications was released the other day… In Class 5-A the Dorman boys and Goose Creek girls are ranked #1… In Class-4A the top spots belong to the Ridgeview boys and North Augusta girls… In Class AAA the Keenan boys and Bishop England girls are at the top…. College Notes: Taking a look at the latest AP Poll for men and women’s Division I basketball:

  • Men… The AP Poll had a little bit of shakeup this week but the top 2 continue to be Tennessee and Duke… If you would like to see the entire AP poll click here.
  • Women… Baylor and Louisville continue to hold down the top spot in the women’s poll… UConn is at #4 and South Carolina #11… If you would like to see the entire poll, click here.
