PC Notes:

  • Men’s Basketball… The Blue Hose men’s basketball team has been off since last Saturday but that ends tomorrow as they travel up I-26 to take on the Bulldogs of UNC-Ashville in a 4:30 pm contest… I believe you will be able to hear that game on the PC Radio Network.
  • Women’s Basketball: PC 66 – USC-Upstate 58… Last Tuesday the Lady Blue Hose traveled up to Spartanburg to on USC-Upstate… Good news for PC fans as the Blue Hose took a 66-58 win with Salina Virola leading the team with 15 points and 13 rebounds… If you would like more information on this game, click here… The team is off this weekend.

Local Notes:

Laurens Academy:

  • LA 51 – Cathedral Academy 22… The Laurens Academy lady Crusaders traveled back down to Wilson Hall in Sumter last night to take on the Lady Generals of Cathedral Academy out of North Charleston in one of the semi-final games of the SCISA Class-A Basketball Tournament… So you ask how did the Crusaders do? Well let’s put it this way, they busted the Generals back down to buck privates and sent them back to basic training as the Crusaders held the Generals scoreless in the first quarter while put 13 points on the board and then went on to take a 51-22 win to punch their ticket to the finals tomorrow at the Sumter Civic Center… The only quarter where the Generals were able to score over 7 points in the fourth quarter (10) when Crusader non-starters played a lot and that was also the only quarter that the Crusaders did not score at least 13 points in a quarter (they only scored 4)…. Ruthie Moore was the only Crusader in double-digits as she scored 25 points… Jennifer Wu finished with 9 points… Florence Mitchell 6, Regan Williamson 3 while Emily Abercrombie, Blair Quarles, Morgan Marlette and Payton Breen all finished with 2 points each… The 28-3 Crusaders will be taking on the Dorchester Academy Raiders who defeated Beaufort Academy 52-45 in the other semi-final game last night…. The tipoff for tomorrow’s championship game is scheduled for 11:00 am and the address for the Sumter Civic Center is 700 W Liberty St, Sumter, SC 29150… Good Luck to the Crusaders!
