The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was investigating a shooting incident where a man apparently shot a woman, them himself. A Friday afternoon Sheriff’s statement indicated deputies were dispatched to Ballard Drive, Cross Hill on report of a Friday shooting. On arrival, they reported finding a female with a gunshot injury to her arm and a male with an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.

While the investigation was still in the early states, the Sheriff’s statement indicated it appears the male arrived at the Ballard Drive location and began shooting at the female and a locksmith, who was changing locks on the residence.

Although injured in her arm, she was able to make her way inside, along with the locksmith. It appears the male then turned the gun on himself. The incident was being investigation as a Domestic Violence incident between the man and woman who recently divorced. The initial Sheriff’s statement on the shooting did not release the identities of either party.

Later Friday, the Sheriff’s Office announced that the ex-husband has died.
