PC Notes:

  • Blue Hose Name PC Alumnus Quinton Ferrell Men’s Basketball Head Coach… After Dustin Kerns stepped down as the men’s basketball coach at PC a couple of weeks ago a search was started to replace him… Well yesterday it was announced that they had found his replacement and they did not have to go all that far to find a familiar face… PC alumnus Quinton Ferrell who was an assistant coach at the College o Charleston until the announcement was made has been selected to head the program… Now for more on Coach Ferrell click here
  • Softball… The PC softball team traveled to Winthrop this past Tuesday and Wednesday for 3 games with the Eagles… On Tuesday Winthrop won both games of a doubleheader by scores of 2-0 and 9-5…. Local Notes:

CHS Red Devils:

  • Baseball: Clinton 7 – Woodruff 1… The Red Devil baseball team loaded the bus and traveled to Woodruff last night to take on the Wolverines… They must have stored the bats in the engine compartment of the bus on the way up because the Red Devil bats were hot last night getting 10 hits as they took a 7-1 win over the Wolverines…The game was scoreless until the top of the 3rd inning when Clinton used 4 hits and a wild pitch to score 3 runs and were never really challenged after that as Caleb Riddle picked up the complete game win giving up the 1 unearned run on 4 hits while striking out 5 and walking 2… Konnor Richardson continues to swing a hot bat as he went 4 for 4 on the night with a solo homer in the 4th inning… For the game’s box score and some stats, click on the following: 4-11-19-CBB-Woodruff… For the games scorecard, click on the following: 4-11-19-CBB-Woodruff-SC… The team is scheduled to be back in action tonight as they travel to Prosperity to take on the Mid-Carolina Rebels.

LDHS: Raiders:

  • Baseball: TL Hanna 4 – Laurens 2… The Laurens Raider varsity baseball team hosted the Yellow Jackets of TL Hanna last night at Ed Prescott Field in a battle for second place in the region…The Raiders outhit the Yellow Jackets 7-4 but that is not what counts as Hanna took a 4-2 win… The Raiders were bitten last night by the error bug 4 times and only 2 of Hanna’s 4 runs were earned… Hanna led 4-0 going into the bottom of the 3rd inning when the Raiders picked up their first run… The Raiders had runners in scoring position at least 3 more times but were only able to cash in on the opportunities once in the 5th inning when they picked up their last run…  The Raiders were led on offense by Jalen Bragg who went 3 for 4 and Zac Rice who went 2 for 3… For the game’s box score and some stats, click on the following: 4-11-19-LBB-Hanna… For the games scorecard, click on the following: 4-11-19-LBB-Hanna-SC… The Raiders will be back in action next Tuesday when they host Easley.
