A Waterloo man has been charged following the death of a dog Monday. The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office yesterday booked 50-year-old John Allen Davis of 1021 Harris Springs Road with Ill Treatment of Animals.

Deputy Adam Galloway states that on April 15th Dais committed the crime of Ill Treatment of Animals in general, Torture, in that he caused the death of a pit bull by tying a rope around its neck, causing asphyxia that resulted in the animal’s death. Mr. Davis was being held overnight, awaiting a bond hearing on the Ill Treatment charge.
