Baseball & Softball… It has been a while since I had the opportunity to look at college baseball or softball rankings but now that local sports are winding down lets catch up on those rankings.

  • D-I Baseball Rankings… Looking at the D1BASEBALL.COM TOP 25 you find UVLA ranked #1 with a 37-8 record… Stanford checks in at #2 while the balance of the top 5 is Vanderbilt, Arkansas and Mississippi State… Spots 6-10 are occupied by Louisville, Georgia Tech, Georgia, East Carolina and Texas Tech… No team from the state of South Carolina is in the top 25 according to this poll… If you would like to see the entire poll, click here.
  • D-I Softball Rankings… Now the college softball season is further along and teams are winding down their season as conference tournament play is fast approaching… Accursing to the USA Today / NFCA Coaches Poll Oklahoma holds down the top spot with a great 48-2 record… Following Oklahoma the next 3 spots are occupied by Washington, UCLA, Alabama and Florida State… Sports 6-10 are held down by Arizona, Louisiana, Texas, Florida and LSU… The South Carolina Gamecocks check in at #20 with a 36-16 record…. Pro Baseball: Click on the score for any game(s) listed below to get more information on that game.

  • Dodgers 9 – Braves 4…. The Dodgers were able to pull the brooms out of the dugout closet last night out in LA and take a 9-4 win over the Braves thus sweeping the 3-game series… The Braves actually outhit the Dodgers 11-9 but 3 of the Dodgers hits were homers while the Braves countered with a single homer by Ronald Acuna Jr.(7)… The Braves fall to 18-19 on the season while the Dodgers improve to 25-14… The Braves remain on the road as they travel to Arizona tonight to start a 4-game series with the Diamondbacks tonight with first pitch scheduled for 9:40 pm

  • Braves 4 – Drive 3…. After having a night off on Tuesday, the Greenville Drive were back in action last night as they started a 3-game series with the Rome Braves in Rome, Ga… Bad news for you Drive fans as the Drive lost 4-3 to the Baby Braves… Greenville led 3-1 going into the bottom of the 5th inning when the Braves struck for 3 runs and then made them hold up as they went on to the 4-3 win.
