Dakota Joe Wyatt

Three men were charged with Possession of a Stolen car following an early morning police chase involving the stolen vehicle Sunday. Laurens Police arrested 21-year-old Dakota Joe Wyatt of 141 Terry Drive, Liberty. He was initially issued tickets from Officer Gault charging him with Driving under Suspension and having an Altered Vehicle Tag at 1:54 Sunday morning on East Main Street. Warrants were also served yesterday further charging him with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Failure to Stop for Blue Lights.

The warrants cited an investigation of Officer Gault. They allege that on May 12th Dakota Joe Wyatt was in possession of a stolen 2011 Kia Soul, valued at $3,000, which he was operating on East Main Street and failed to stop when he was signaled by siren and flashing blue lights. He is accused of substantially increasing his speed and making multiple turns throughout the pursuit in order to evade law enforcement.

Cash or surety bonds on the four charges were set totaling $17,879. Dakota Joe Wyatt remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.
