Pro Sports    For more information on any of the following games, click on their score.

  • Pirates 7 – Braves 4… In game two of their three game series in Pittsburg with the Pirates, the Braves found themselves on the short end of a 7-4 score… The reason was simple, the Pirates bats pounded out 14 hits while the Brave bats managed only 6… The Pirates took control of the game in the second inning when they put 5 runs on the board and limited the Braves to just 1 run until the 9th inning where the Braves plated 3 runs mainly on the strength of homers by Ronald Acuna (12) and Dansby Swanson (12)… The final game of the series is tonight and the series is tied 1-1.
  • Legends 5 – Drive 4… The Greenville Drive finished their 3-game series with the Lexington Legends at Flour Field on a down note as the Legends took a 5-4 win over the Drive thus sweeping the series… The Legends scored all their runs in the first 4 innings and then held on to take the win… The Drive travel to West Virginia today to take on the Power in a 4-game series starting tonight.
  • NBA: Raptors 123 – Warriors 109…. In game 3 of the NBA Finals, the Toronto Raptors took a 123-109 win over the Golden State warriors on the Warriors home court…Stephen Curry had 47 points for Golden State but it just was not enough…. The Raptors now lead the series 2-1 and game 4 will be Friday on the west coast.
  • NHL… I was asked by a hockey fan (most likely a transplant from up north somewhere) why I had not mentioned the NHL Finals the other day so I will remedy that now… The finals between the Boston Bruins and the St. Louis Blues is tied 2-2… game 5 of the series will be tonight in Boston at 8:00 pm…For more information on the Stanley Cup Finals, click here.
  • MLB Draft… The diehard baseball fans are aware that the MLB draft has been going on for a couple of days now… Clemson’s Logan Davidson was taken in the first round by the Athletics as the #29 pick… Other Clemson players who have been selected are Kyle Willkie (Pittsburg – Rd 12), Owen Griffin (Twins – Rd 20), Grayson Byrd (Cubs – Rd 24) and Brooks Crawford (Giants – Rd 29)… South Carolina has had about as many players drafted led by T.J. Hopkins (Reds – Rd 9), Luke Berryhill (Rd -13), Reid Morgan (Seattle Rd 13), Jacob Olson (Cubs) Rd 26) and Ridge Chapman (Angels – Rd 34)… Many other players from South Carolina schools have been selected including some of the smaller colleges and even one high school player from Latta HS… Now to see all who have been drafted click here… Once you get to MLB Draft Tracker posting you can filter by many options to refine what you would like to see.
