PC Notes:

  • Basketball Adds Two Signees… PC’s new men’s basketball coach Quinton Ferrell has announced recently the signing of guard Michael Isler (Albany, Ga.) and forward Luka Jaksic (Woodstock, Ga.) to join the Blue Hose in the fall of 2019…. To find out more about these players click here

Local Notes:  


  • Alexander named New CHS Athletic Director… According to other local media sources, Louis Alexander has been named as the new athletic director at Clinton HS… He is replacing Nicki Templeton who is leaving CHS to become an assistant principal at Woodmont HS… Alexander cam to CHS a couple of years ago from Mid-Carolina HS where he served as head football coach and athletic director… He has also served in those same capacities at Whitmire HS.


College Notes:

  • Baseball Super Regionals Start Today… The road to Omaha and the baseball D-I Championship goes through 8 different cities this weekend as the Super Regionals get started… UCLA will be hosting Michigan, Vanderbilt will be hosting Duke, Texas Tech will be hosting Oklahoma State, Louisville will be hosting East Carolina, Mississippi will be hosting Arkansas, Stanford will be hosting Mississippi State, LSU will host Florida State and finally North Carolina will host Auburn…. Now for more information on these regionals click here where it will carry you to the NCAA website where the interactive bracket is located and you can then click on any super regional you are interested in and see the schedule for it.

  • Pirates 6 – Braves 1… The Pirates and the Braves completed their current 3-game series up in Pittsburg yesterday and the Braves jumped out on top quickly as Freddie Freeman ripped his 16th homer of the season in the first inning to put the Braves up 1-0… However that would be the last run the Braves would score as the Pirates scored 3 runs in the 2nd and 8th inning to take a 6-1 win… The win also gave the Pirates the series win as they won two of the three games.
  • Drive 7 – Power 3… The Greenville Drive started a 4-game road trip on a positive note last night as they defeated the West Virginia Power 7-3 up in West Virginia… The Drive scored 2 run in the top of the first inning and then never trailed as they went on to take the win…

Raider Basketball Camp… LDHS basketball Coach Ryan Walker and his staff will be conducting a basketball camp for youth in grades 1-6 on June 12th to the 14th (Wednesday – Friday) at LDHS from 9:00 am until noon. … The cost is only $50 and to register for the camp click here which will carry you to the District 55 Athletic website where you can download the registration form… If you have any questions email Coach Walker at


Raider Baseball Camp…The Raider Baseball Program will be hosting a 4-day camp, June 24th-27th. This camp is offered to young boys and girls, ages 7-12. While at camp, your son/daughter will learn basic baseball fundamentals; including base running, hitting, catching, throwing, and specific position fundamentals. Our goal for this camp is to serve youth baseball players in our county that want to become better players. We feel like it is our duty to give back to the community that has grown and shaped so many of our Raider Baseball players, past and present. We look forward to working with our youth and hope to see all of you on June 24th. Registrations will take place every morning beginning at 8am. Snacks and water will be provided. Players should wear proper baseball attire every day; baseball pants, hat, and cleats. If a player does not have appropriate baseball attire, please have them dress in clothes that they can get dirty in and tennis shoes. The cost is $45 per player / $55 for Siblings.  Raider Youth Softball Camp… Starting June 10th and running through August 26th Coach Michaela Smith will be offering a FREE softball camp on Mondays for young ladies in grades 1-6…. There is no registration required and all you need to bring is your glove… Again the clinic is free and it is on Mondays at the LDHS softball field or adjacent hitting building… If you have any questions email Coach Smith at:
