Request for Apartment Complex Denied

Clinton City Council was informed last week that Clinton’s Planning Commission has denied a request for bringing 20 acres into the city limits on the south side of town. The request came from an entity planning to construct a new 46-unit apartment complex. Inspections and Planning Department Director Tink Barns appeared before Council last week noting the Planning Commission denied a request from a developer at their May 28th meeting. The developer proposed construction of a 46-unit apartment complex near the intersection of Springdale Drive and Highway 56.

Tink Barnes said the city’s engineering company advised the planning commission that the city’s sewer system is not adequate to handle the wastewater that would be generated by 46 apartments proposed for the complex.

Clinton City Council accepted this as information.
