  • Baseball Camp at PC Next Monday… The next sports camp at PC is a baseball camp being put on by the PC baseball staff next Monday, 6-17-19… It is the Blue Hose Select baseball Camp and it is designed for young men in grades 9-12 and junior college players who might be interested… Now for more information on this camp like cost, start time, registration and who to call for more information, click here

Shrine Race Tonight… A quick reminder that the 38th Annual Shrine race will be tonight out at the Laurens County Speedway… Of course as eh name implies this is an event that helps the Shriners in the charity work… The gates to the grandstands will open at 6:00 pm so make plans to come out and support the Shriners



  • Cassie Plaia Named as a Softball All-State Player I believe it was 2 weeks ago today when I was telling you about the Raider softball Awards banquet the night before that I mentioned that Cassie Plaia had been named to the Class AAAAA All-State Softball Team… Laurens School District 55 released more information about that yesterday including comments from Cassie and Coach Michela Smith… If you would like to read that press release, click here… Once again congratulations to Cassie!

  • Braves 13 – Pirates 7… Last night the Braves opened a 4-game series with a bang and the bang was off the bat of Robert Acuna Jr. who hit a grand slam homerun as part of a 5-run second inning as the Braves then went on to defeat the Pirates 13-7… It was Acuna’s 15th homerun of the season… Ozzie Albies had 2 homers in the game (8 & 9) while both Freddie Freeman (18) and Nick Markakis (5) each had a homer for the Braves…
  • Drive 9 – Intimidators 2… The Greenville drive pounded out 15 hits last night off 3 Kannapolis Intimidator pitchers as they took a 9-2 win at Flour Field to open a 3 game series with the Intimidators… The Drive’s first baseman Tristan Casas went 4 for 5 with 4 RBIs to lead the Drive at the plate.


  • Golden State 106 – Toronto 105… Last night up in Toronto, the Golden State Warriors took a 106 – 105 win over the Raptors to stave off elimination and force game 6 in the NBA Finals… Draymond Green blocked a last-second raptors shot that could have won the game to seal the Warriors win… Kevin Durant tried to comeback from his leg injury last night for the Warriors but had to leave in the second quarter when he reinjured it. . Stephen Curry had 31 points to lead all scorers… Game 6 will be Thursday night out on the west coast.



  • Joey Logano Wins at Michigan… Now for you NASCAR fans who had to work yesterday and missed the race at Michigan yesterday that was postponed from Sunday due to rain, Joey Logano took the win… If you want to find out more about how the race turned out, click here.

Raider Basketball Camp… LDHS basketball Coach Ryan Walker and his staff will be conducting a basketball camp for youth in grades 1-6 on June 12th to the 14th (Wednesday – Friday) at LDHS from 9:00 am until noon. … The cost is only $50 and to register for the camp click here which will carry you to the District 55 Athletic website where you can download the registration form… If you have any questions email Coach Walker at


Raider Baseball Camp…The Raider Baseball Program will be hosting a 4-day camp, June 24th-27th. This camp is offered to young boys and girls, ages 7-12. While at camp, your son/daughter will learn basic baseball fundamentals; including base running, hitting, catching, throwing, and specific position fundamentals. Our goal for this camp is to serve youth baseball players in our county that want to become better players. We feel like it is our duty to give back to the community that has grown and shaped so many of our Raider Baseball players, past and present. We look forward to working with our youth and hope to see all of you on June 24th. Registrations will take place every morning beginning at 8am. Snacks and water will be provided. Players should wear proper baseball attire every day; baseball pants, hat, and cleats. If a player does not have appropriate baseball attire, please have them dress in clothes that they can get dirty in and tennis shoes. The cost is $45 per player / $55 for Siblings.  Raider Youth Softball Camp… Starting June 10th and running through August 26th Coach Michaela Smith will be offering a FREE softball camp on Mondays for young ladies in grades 1-6…. There is no registration required and all you need to bring is your glove… Again the clinic is free and it is on Mondays at the LDHS softball field or adjacent hitting building from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm… If you have any questions email Coach Smith at:


Clinton YMCA Summer Sports Camps, Swimming Lessons and Pool Schedule… The Clinton YMCA has a full summer of sports camps scheduled and again this summer they will be offering swimming lessons just about every week…. If you would like to see the full schedule of sports camps and swimming lesson as well as the pool schedule click here or see the posting in the Featured Sports section of our homepage… The next sports camps at the Clinton YMCA are tennis June 17-20 for various age groups at different times and Cheer Camp June 18-20 for girls 5-12… You must register by 5:00 pm this Friday (7-14-19).
