Man Charged from Early April Encounter

A man wanted by Laurens Police from an early April encounter with officers was apprehended overnight. 30-year-old Wilhunvie Pomyea Hill of 11-A Bub Avenue, Laurens was booked early this morning in the Johnson Detention Center. Mr. Hill has been charged with 3rd or Subsequent Offense, Possession of Less than One Gram of Cocaine along with Driving under Suspension and Flight Upon Sight.

Warrants citing an investigation of Master Patrol Officer Van Pelt state that on April 2nd Hill had in his constructive possession approximately 0.26 gram of cocaine on Lurey Street in Laurens during an encounter with law enforcement. During a traffic stop on Lurey Street he was also allegedly found to be driving while his driver’s license was suspended. He’s also accused of committing the crime of Flight Upon Sight by fleeing on foot from the scene of that lawful traffic stop on Lurey Street.

Wilhunvie Pomyea Hill was being held earlier today with a bond hearing pending.
