  • Braves 7 – Pirates 5… Down in Atlanta last night the Braves took a 7-5 win over the Pirates and again the “long ball” played a big role in the Braves win…. The Pirates scored 2 runs in the 1st inning to go up early but that only lasted until the second inning when the Braves blasted 4 homeruns to take the lead…. Josh Donaldson, Nick Markakis, Brian McCann and Ozzie Albies all had solo homers in the inning… The Pirates fought back and had tied the game 4-4 as the Braves came to bat in the 6th inning… That is where Brian McCann picked up his second homer of the night a 3-run blast to right field which would score what proved to be the winning runs… Game 4 of the 4-game series is tonight at 7:05.
  • Intimidators 5 – Drive 4…. In game 2 of their 3 game series with the Kannapolis Intimidators last night at Flour Field, the Drive came up on the short end of a 5-4 score… The game was about as even as you can get as both teams had 8 hits that included a homer… Game 3 is tonight and if you want to see the Drive play for the next couple of weeks you better head on up to Greenville tonight as they will be on the road after tonight until after the All-Star Game break and then after it also.
  • NASCAR Monster Energy Series Standings… Well we have not looked at the Monster Energy Cup Drivers Standings in a while so let’s do that now… After his win on Monday at Michigan, Joey Logano moved to the top spot with 614 points… Kyle Busch is not far behind in second with 605 points… Spots 3-5 are occupied by Brad Keselowski (541), Kevin Harvick (539) and Chase Elliott (531)… In spots 6-10 you will find Martin Truex, Jr., Denny Hamlin, Kurt Busch, Ryan Blaney and Alex Bowman… To see the entire list of drivers and where they stand click here.
  • NASCAR This Weekend… Now the Monster Energy series has the weekend off and only the Xfinity and truck series will be racing… They will be up in Iowa with the trucks racing n Friday at Saturday at 8:30 and the Xfinity cars on Sunday at 5:30…. Click here for more details including TV availability
  • NHL… A reminder for our 3 hockey fans out there, game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals will be tonight in Boston as the Bruins will host the St. Louis Blues starting at 8:00 pm… With the series a best of 7 affair it’s down to this last game with winner taking it all… I believe you can catch that on NBC channel 4 out of Greenville.
