Free Laptops for District 56 4-K Students

Most students in most schools have always had homework assigned but 4K students in School District 56 are to have homework this coming school year. However, this homework will be done with a laptop computer provided for the 4K students without charge to them.

M. S. Bailey Child Development Center’s Director, Carol Anne Barnes, reports they’re now taking applications for the few 4-K spaces available for this coming 2019-2020 school year. Ms. Barnes said they’re excited to announce that 4K students in District 56 will have the opportunity to receive a laptop to work on educational programs at home while they attend Bailey.

The SC State Department of Education is collaborating with Waterford Upstart to provide the educational programs, devices, and internet service free of charge for students. This is a new endeavor by the State Department of Education. Director Barnes said students attending Bailey will benefit from this exciting opportunity. M.S. Bailey is open for parents to come register with summer hours between 7:00 AM and 5:30 PM Monday through Thursday.
