Laurens Majors in State Tournament

  • Want to wish Luke Tollison and the Laurens Little League (L3) Majors good luck as they travel to Summerville this weekend to start their participation in the State Tournament. … As you may recall, they defeated Easley in 2 straight games a couple of weeks ago to win the district crown… They have a bye today and will start tomorrow their quest for the title tomorrow at10:00am against a team to be determined by action tonight … If you click here it will take you to a posting where the tournament bracket is located and address of the park in case you want to go down and support the team… Go L3!!

  • Nationals 13 – Braves 4…. The Braves started a series with the Washington Nationals last night in Atlanta and the put it to the Braves as they took a 143-4 win running the Braves losing streak to 3 games… The Braves scored a run first to take a 1-o lead but the Nationals erased that in in the third inning when they scored 8 runs… The Nationals only had one homerun in the big third inning and that was by their pitcher Stephen Strasburg who capped the inning with a 3-run shot… He actually went 3-3 on the night and had 5 RBIs as well as picking up the win… Nick Markakis was the only Brave with more than one hit as he went 2-4 with a homer (9).


  • Drive 5 – Fireflies 1Now there is better news where the Greenville Drive are concerned as they took a 5-1 win over the Columbia Fireflies at Flour Field in the first game of a 4-game series… The Drive simply outhit the Fireflies 12-7 with one of the Drive’s hits being a 2-run homer by Triston Casas (17) in the 7th inning.

Football and Cheerleading at the City of Laurens Parks and Recreation Department… Registration is now open for tackle football and cheerleading at the City of Laurens Parks and Recreation Department…. These are open to youth ages 7-12 and the cost is $60 per person plus a $25 equipment rental fee for those participating in football…. You can register at The Ridgeon Exchange Drive during their normal business hours and if you have any questions visit them there of call 681-7275… The last day to register is July 26th.


 Flag Football and Cheerleading at the Clinton YMCA… Registration is now open for flag football and cheerleading at the Clinton Family YMCA… There will be 3 age appropriate divisions for flag football that include 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12 years old…Cheerleading is for youth in kindergarten through 6th grade… Now for more information about this such as cost, age date determination, fall-out dates and financial assistance click here or call the YMCA at 833-1555… The last day to register is August 16th.


 Raider Youth Softball Camp… Starting June 10th and running through August 26th Coach Michaela Smith will be offering a FREE softball camp on Mondays for young ladies in grades 1-6…. There is no registration required and all you need to bring is your glove… Again the clinic is free and it is on Mondays at the LDHS softball field or adjacent hitting building from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm… If you have any questions email Coach Smith at:


Clinton YMCA Summer Sports Camps, Swimming Lessons and Pool Schedule… The Clinton YMCA has a full summer of sports camps scheduled and again this summer they will be offering swimming lessons just about every week…. Laurens YMCA Summer Sports and Specialty Camps … Starting July 1st, the Laurens family YMCA will be having several sports and specialty camps… All camps cost $50 for YMCA members and $60 for non-members…. To see a full list of these camps click here and if you have more questions call the YMCA at 984-2621… You must register by the Friday before the camp starts. The next 2 camps are: Archery July 23-25, 9:00.-11:00 am, Ages 7-15… Ready, aim, fire! Campers will learn the basic skills of archery, shooting targets, and learned different styles of shooting. The camp will be instructed by Ed Prescott. Spaces are limited for this camp… Soccer Camp July 29-August 1, Ages 5-9 at 9-11 am, Ages 15 and up at 6:00-8:00 pm… Goal! Take your soccer skills to the next level! Campers will participate in soccer drills to improve their skills in passing, dribbling and shooting! PC Season Football Tickets on Sale

  • PC has 6 home games this season and the first one is on Saturday, Sept 14 when the Blue Hose host Jacksonville.
  • Blue chair back reserve seats are only $90.00 for the entire 6-game home season.
  • Parking is $5 per game but season parking passes are available for $25.
  • Per game seating (subject to availability) is $20 per game for chair type seats bench general admission will be $10 per seat for adults and $5 for students.
