CHS Red Devils:

  • Season Football Tickets on Sale… With football season just over a week away don’t forget that season football tickets are on sale for $45 each… The tickets can be purchased Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:30 am – 3:00 pm at the CHS Athletic office… With the season tickets you will get one parking pass… Senior Citizens (60 and older) can get their season ticket for $20 and that comes with the parking pass… To get to the athletic office, enter the campus at gate #3 and proceed to the parking lot in front of the main gym… Enter the building through the main gym door and the athletic office will be the first door on your left… If you have any further questions, Contact Mrs. Kathy Schumpert at 864-938-1981, or Athletic Director Louie Alexander at 864-938-1982… Go Big Red!

 

LDHS: Raiders

  • Laurens Raider Athletic Booster Club Selling Season Tickets and Athletic Passes…Now season football tickets are also on sale through the Laurens Raider Athletic booster Club… The traditional Century Club which cost $150 gets you two regular season tickets and a reserved parking spot plus two Home Athletic passes to any Raider regular season game in all the other sports… (Note: In all playoffs for any sport you will have to pay to get in as per SCHSL rules)… This year they are also offering a Gold Club level that cost $75 but you do not get the reserved parking spot or the two home athletic passes… They even offer a Green Club level for $25 which gets you a discount on Raider gear, a window decal and recognition in the football program… Those three items also come with the Century and Gold levels… For more information and to get the application for membership, click here.

 

 

Laurens Academy

  • Booster Club… A membership in the LA Booster Club offers free admission into home games of all sports (excluding play-off games.) Memberships are $75 per individual or $150 per family. They can be purchased at the ticket counter during home sporting events or by contacting Lisa Suttles in the school office. The phone number there is 682-2324

 

High School Football Scores and Standings

  • Thanks to scfootballstats.com you can now see last weekend’s scores for all games by classification… You can also see the standings in each region by classification… To see this information click here.

 

Laurens County Speedway… Looking at the results in each of the divisions main events you find:

  • SECA 604 Crate… Dale Timms took the win in the SECA 604 Crate main event topping Timbo Mangum by over 3 seconds… He won the race leading wire to wire… Brad Rachels finished third.
  • Limited… The Limited main event saw another driver take the lead when the green flag dropped and never trail and that driver was Deano Long… Frank Coates finished second and Mike Huey finished third.
  • Thunder Bombers… The Thunder Bomber main event had trouble getting off to a clean start but once it started Casey Lawson took the win with Dan Lawson and Scott Pulley being the next two drivers in that order to get the checkered flag.
  • 602 Crate… The 602 Crate main event was another race that had trouble getting started as a car broke a drive shaft before getting to turn one on the first lap and causing some collisions… Once the race got going, Rod Tucker won the race with Billy Rushton and Colby Cannon being the next two drivers across the finish line in that order.
  • FWD… The FWD main event saw Travis Jamieson take the win jumping to the lead at the start of the race and then went on to take win… Justin McJunkin finished second and Seth Smith third.
  • 4-Cylinder…The 4-cylinder main event was another race that saw a driver take the lead at the start and then never surrender it… That driver was Baillie Lowe and finishing second and third were Scott Nelson and T.J. Neal.

  • Rockies 3 – Braves 2… After finishing the series in New York Sunday, the Braves got on the plane and headed out to Colorado to make up a game with the Rockies postponed due to weather from back in April… There was no score in the game for 7.5 innings until the Rockies scored in the bottom of the 8th inning making it 1-0… The Braves tied the game in the top of the 9th when Adeiny Hechavarria drove in Billy Hamilton with a sacrifice fly… Then in the bottom of the 9th the Rockies’ Ryan McMahon delivered a 2-ruhomer to give the Rockies a 3-1 walk-off win. … The Braves head north of the border tonight to start a 2-game series with the Blue Jays.
  • GreenJackets 7 – Drive 0The Greenville Drive started the last home series of their season last night at Flour Field taking on the Augusta GreenJackets… The news is not good for Drive fans as Augusta took a 7-0 win outhitting Greenville 8-3 and taking advantage of 3 Drive errors.

Fall Ball at the City of Laurens Parks and Recreation… Registration is now open at the City of Laurens Parks and Recreation Department for Fall Baseball… Ages 6-8 can register for coaches pitch while ages 9-11 can register for kids pitch baseball…. The cost is $40 for either and you can register at The Ridge on Exchange Drive daily… Registration closes August 30.
