  • Football Adds Home Game with Mercer… PC officials announced yesterday that the football team has added Mercer to its schedule and the two teams will play at Bailey Memorial Stadium this Saturday, 9-7—19 at 2:00 pm… Since the PC game at Stetson was cancelled last Saturday, this will be the season opener for PC… Now for more information about the game including ticket cost and ticketing procedure for season ticket holders as well as series history between the Bears and the Blue Hose, click here.

Local Notes:

LDHS: Raiders

  • No Official Word Yet on Myrtle Beach Game… As of this posting there has been no official word on the fate of the Laurens at Myrtle Beach game this Saturday… In a quote from Myrtle Beach Online, “Myrtle Beach will not play its home opener against Laurens this week and Coach Mickey Wilson doesn’t see a point on the schedule to make up the game”… Like I said no official word but with schools out down there and Hurricane Dorian passing at least close to the Myrtle Beach coast around Thursday I would not bet on the game being played.

  • Braves 6 – Blue Jays 3Last night at Sun Trust Park the Braves started a short 2-game series with the Blue Jays… The Blue Jays actually outhit the Braves 5-4 but the number of hits is not what you use to determine who won the game it is runs scored and the Braves scored 6 runs to the Blue Jays 3 taking the win… Both teams also had 2 homeruns each but both of the Blue Jays’ homers were solo shots while both of the Braves were not… Josh Donaldson hit his 34th homer of the season a two-run shot in the first inning and Johan Camargo hit his 6th homerun of the season in the 8th inning also a two-run shot.
  • NASCAR Results From Darlington… The true NASCAR fans know that last Saturday’s race at Darlington which was scheduled to start at 6 pm did not start until about 10 pm due to bad weather in the area… They also know that Erik Jones won the race with Kyle Larson finishing second, Kyle Busch third, Kevin Harvick fourth and Brad Keselowski fifth…. This information was basically for the “casual” NASCAR fan and if you would like to see the complete order of finish for the race, click here.
  • NASCAR Monster Energy Driver Standings… After last weekend’s race, Kyle Bush still holds down the top spot in the standing with 983 points… Joey Logano is second 64 points behind Busch and Denny Hamlin is third 106 points behind Busch… To see the entire driver standings in the Monster Energy Series, click here.
