Machete Assault Alleged

A Laurens County man has been charged with assaulting his son with a machete late last week. Friday, the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office arrested

Earl Gentry Goode Sr. of 6085 Whitmire Highway, Clinton. He was later charged with Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature. Deputy Benjamin Perry states that on September 6th Mr. Goode intentionally committed an assault on his son, the act being aggravated in that a machete was used to cut the victim. With a cash or surety bond set at $30,000, Earl Gentry Goode remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.

35-year-old Earl Gentry Goode Jr. of Sloan Road, Lyman was also arrested. With an apparent minor injury, he was reportedly being held, awaiting charges from Probation.
