Local Notes:

Schedule Changes Today Due to Heat…. The predicted high temperatures today have caused some time changes in the start of athletic events this afternoon… The SCHSL has a “wet bulb thermometer” rule they adopted a couple of years ago to help protect out athletes for becoming heat stressed during these hot days. … A short list of the contest I know are affected includes:

  • Northside MS at LMS football game is now scheduled to kickoff at 6:00 pm (not 5:00)
  • Westside at Laurens girls tennis will start at 6:00 pm (not 5:00)
  • Laurens at Westside JV football game is now scheduled to kickoff at 7:00 pm (not 6:00)
  • Sanders at CMS-8 football game will kickoff at 6:00 pm (not 5:00 pm)… Please remember that we do plan on bringing you that game here on Real Radio WLBG
  • NOTE: There may be more today that change as the day goes on… If I hear of any more changes during the day I will put a notice of them in the Local News section on our homepage at www.wlbg.com
