1st Degree Assault on Pregnant Girlfriend

Laurens Police have arrested a man for an alleged assault on his pregnant girlfriend Tuesday. 32-year-old Anthony Rashia “Bobo” Anderson of 103-A Watts Street, Laurens is charged with 1st Degree Domestic Violence and Resisting Arrest. Warrants citing the investigation of Sgt. C.W. Jones indicate that on October 8th in his residence Mr. Anderson struck his girlfriend in the face with a closed fist, resulting in apparent injury. This is stated to have occurred with Anderson having knowledge that the victim was five months pregnant at the time of the assault. The warrant adds that he has been convicted for Domestic Violence once previously in the past ten years. Anderson is further accused of resisting arrest just after 7:00 Tuesday evening on North Harper Street. Anthony “Bobo” Anderson was being held in the Johnson Detention Center with cash or surety bonds totaling $76,000. In addition, he has also been served with a warrant charging him with Violation of Probation. It alleges failure to follow advice and instructions of his agent, noting his Tuesday arrest by Laurens Police.
