Sports Report for Thursday, 11-7-2019

Local Notes:

CHS Red Devils:

  • JV Football Wrap Up… With the JV football team having its final game of the season canceled one week ago they finished the season with an 8-1 and 4-0 in region play… Three only loss was to the Laurens raiders in the first game of the season where they led 12-0 going into the fourth quarter only to have the Raiders pull out a 13-12 win in the last minute of the game… They were the only region team to go undefeated in region play… For comments from Coach Glenn and to see the team photo, click here… The future looks bright for Red Devil football… Go Big Red!

LDHS Raiders:

  • JV Football Wrap Up… Now the future also looks bright for the Laurens Raiders as the JV team finished its season with a 7-1 record… Their only loss was to Hillcrest in the second game of the season where they lost 20-0 in a game that the Raider coaching staff feels like they could have won… They went 6-0 in region play and their final game of the season last week with Easley was cancelled due to weather… Another piece of evidence that the future is bright is that several of the JV players participated in the varsity game at Easley last Friday and Cayson Elledge caught a long TD pass and Gemere Darden scored on a 5 yard run…
