A third person was arrested yesterday morning in connection with a November burglary in the Waterloo area. Sheriff’s Investigator Ritter arrested 50-year-old April Renee Nicely of the 1000 address range on East Florida Street, Clinton. She was charged with Criminal Conspiracy, 3rd Degree Burglary and Petit Larceny. She’s accused of conspiring with another Clinton woman and a Waterloo man and is further implicated in the November 12th Burglary of a building on Kirby Road, Waterloo. It’s alleged that the defendants carried away knives, clothing and a jewelry box valued at $150.

April Renee Nicely was being held overnight in the Johnson Detention Center, awaiting a bond hearing. The first two defendants arrested in this case, 31-year-old Ronald Eugene Padgett of Waterloo and 29-year-old Samantha Nicole Sweat of Clinton, remained in custody this morning with cash or surety bonds set for each, totaling $12,000 on the three charges.
