Five-Year Sentence on Grand Larceny Plea

A five-year sentence was handed down in Laurens County Circuit Court yesterday. 21-year-old Nijel R. Montgomery of South Bell Street, Clinton pled guilty to Grand Larceny valued at $10,000 or more. He had been accused of unauthorized use of a vehicle. Montgomery was sentenced to five years, but given credit for 518 days, already served. The sentence was under the Youthful Offender’s Act. With the guilty plea on the Grand Larceny charge, charges of Armed Robbery and Criminal Conspiracy were dismissed on Nigjel Montgomery.
