Man Charged by Three Agencies

A man arrested earlier this week by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office is now facing charges from three agencies.

The Sheriff’s Office has charged 20-year-old Zachary William Marler of Collins Street, Laurens with Failure to Stop for Blue Lights on December 30th, 2019. He’s further charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, both on February 10th of 2020.

Laurens Police have charged Marler with Driving under Suspension, Unattended Vehicle and Improper Backing from a December 28th incident. He is accused of backing his vehicle against the flow of traffic on Powerline Drive on the 28th of December, 2019, as well as Driving under Suspension of his license and of abandoning a vehicle in the street with the motor left running that date.

State Probation officers have charged Zachary Marler with Violation of Probation. His failure to follow the advice and instructions of his supervising agent reportedly included moving without knowledge or permission of his supervising agent, evidenced by contact with him January 8th of 2020 and with a Sheriff’s attempt to serve a warrant on January 1sth.

Zachary William Marler remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.
