County Council Approves Ambulance

Laurens County EMS Director Matt Pennington this week asked county to approve the purchase of an ambulance which has been used as a demonstration model. He said the “Demo-Ambulance” would be used for non-emergency service. He explained money for such as purchase has been requested in the new budget process, but “This truck was just shown to use and we could save about $35,000 if we purchase it now.” He requested the $163,750.00 cost be paid out of the $800,000 EMS Fund balance. Council voted unanimous approval for the purchase.
