Local Notes:

LDHS Raiders:

Varsity Basketball… The Raider varsity basketball teams hosted the Woodmont Wildcats in region action in the main gym at LDHS last night making up games that had twice been postponed due to bad weather

  • G: WHS 60 – LDHS 37… As has been the case too often this season, the Lady Raider offense struggled to find its rhythm as the Raiders only scored 13 points in the first half while the Wildcats scored 28 as the Wildcats went on to take a 60-37 win… Another factor in the Wildcats win was the fact that they out rebounded the Raiders by almost a 2-1 margin as the Raiders got few second chances while the Wildcats had numerous offensives rebounds… Raniya Jackson led the Raiders in scoring with 12 points and CaDayzhia Grant was also in double-digits with 11 points… Lamoria Allen finished with 8 points, Qua Fortson 3, MK Moore 2 and Aija Davis 2
  • B: WHS 68 – LDHS 49… The Wildcats completed the sweep of the Raiders last night as they took a 68-49 win in boys’ action… The Raiders’ offense was missing one of its key components last night as Dee Foster who is the Raiders’ leading scorer was injured in the first half of the Easley game the night before tried to play but just could not make it playing maybe a couple of minutes…Also Leonard Williams who scored 28 points the night before just could not buy a basket despite getting good shots until the fourth quarter was held to making just 10 free throws in the first 3 quarters… Dra Copeland led the Raiders in scoring with 20 points and Williams was the only other Raider in double-digits with 14 points… Zy Miller finished with 5 points, Josh Cureton 4, Nigil Owens 3 and Aiden Pridgen 3 also.
