Local Notes:

Laurens Academy Crusaders: Looking at the Crusader baseball and softball season to date:

  • Baseball… The Crusaders baseball team managed to get in three games before The Virus caused a suspension of the season… They opened their season with a 10-0 win over Oconee Christian but then dropped 2 games… They fell to Wardlaw at home 6-5 and then traveled to Winnsboro to take on Richard Winn where they fell 12-3… The last two games were region games.
  • Softball… The Crusader softball team started their season later than the baseball season did and managed to get only 1 game in before the shutdown…. The traveled to ware Shoals where they fell by a score of 11-4… Now I have hope that maybe we can get some more high school games in before graduation but I hate to have to admit that seems more and more unlikely as the days go by….I really hate it for all the seniors out there who were looking forward to their final season in the spring sports.
