Local Notes:

Laurens County Speedway… Taking a quick look at the results in each main event at the Laurens County Speedway (LCS) last Saturday night:

  • Thunder Bomber… The Thunder Bomber main event saw Reid Neaderhiser take his first career win in the division last Saturday night as he edged out Dan Lawson… He took the lead late in the race and Brandon Satterfield finished third.
  • 602 Thunder Series… The 602 Thunder Series main event had to wait on a brief shower to pass by and then the drivers had to overcome several restarts but when the checkered flag finally dropped it for Dale Timms with Michael Smith and Ty Lowe finishing second and third respectively.
  • Stock Four… The Stock Four main event that also had several cautions and restarts but when all was said and done Dusty Eaves won the race with Scott Nelson finishing second and Larry Teal third.
  • Front Wheel Drive… Cody Paige took the win in the Front Wheel Drive main event for the second time in as many weeks… The race saw Danny Anthony take a wild ride as he barrel-rolled four times after contact with another driver about half way through the race… He walked away waving to the crowd… After Paige, the next two drivers to get the checkered flag were Justin Harris and Wayne Taylor in that order.
  • Limited late Model… Frank Coates saw his bid to pick up his 100th career win at the LCS come up short as Larry Timms took the win… Coates actually led early before losing the lead to Timms and continued to push him but just could not get by him… Tony Quarles finished third.
  • Powder Puff… Now the ladies got into the action last Saturday night as the LCS had a Powder Puff race… Joanne Smith started on the pole in the main event and took the lead at the start and never surrendered it… Chastity Smith finished second and Bridgett Johnson third.

NASCAR

  • It was Not a Noose… Yesterday it was announced that what some member(s) of the Richard Petty Motorsports team thought was noose in the garage stall of the # 43 car they saw on Sunday was not a noose, it was a garage door pull handle… NASCAR asked the FBI to look into this and they determined that the door pull had been there since last year and that in fact other teams to use that garage stall confirmed it was there earlier and similar to other garage door pulls in other stalls… Great I’m glad to hear that by why did it take the FBI to figure that out… Seem like someone from NASCAR could have figured it out… For more on this click here.
