Man Charged with Knifing 17-Year-Old

A man remained in custody this morning following an alleged knifing of a 17-year-old male last Thursday afternoon. Deputies responded to the scene a little after 4:00 pm to find a 17-year-victim who had reportedly been stabbed in the back and on his leg. A suspect was reportedly arrested nearby at his residence. 50-year-old Norman George Botteron Jr. of Tanager Road, Gray Court was served warrants Friday charging him with two counts of 1st Degree Assault and Battery.

Mr. Botteron is accused of brandishing and opening a knife before one male victim with the intent to cause bodily harm. He is accused of brandishing and opening a knife and proceeding to cut and stab a second male victim, causing life-threatening injuries including puncturing the victim’s chest cavity.

Cash or surety bonds were set at $10,000 for each of the two charges. Norman George Botteron Jr. remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.
