Three More Deaths with COVID-19

Laurens County had three more deaths noted in yesterday afternoon’s daily DHEC update. We now have reached 12 Laurens County residents who have died with COVID-19. Along with the additional deaths, Laurens County has now had 643 cases confirmed through yesterday’s update. That represents 952.69 per 100,000.

Greenwood County move back ahead of Laurens County in total cases that have been confirmed during the Pandemic. DHEC shows 648 cases there, which is just over 915 per 100,000. Greenwood has had 7 deaths of residents with the virus. Newberry County now has had 344 confirmed cases, which represent about 895 per 100,000, and remains with 7 deaths. Abbeville County has had its first death out of 137 cases. That is a rate of just over 558 per 100,000. Of our neighboring counties, Union alone remains with no deaths. They’ve had 127 cases, representing about 465 per 100,000.

Greenville County has now had 6,227 confirmed cases during the pandemic, which represent just over 1,289 per 100,000. Spartanburg has 2,082, or 651 per 100,000 and Anderson has 886 cases, which represent just over 441 per 100,000. Greenville has had 95 people die with the virus, Spartanburg has had 63 deaths and Anderson County has had 15 deaths.

DHEC reports that across South Carolina we have now had 48,770 COVID-19 cases confirmed, with another 139 now considered probable. The state has had 876 deaths with the virus while another 8 are at this point considered probable.
