For winter and spring sports, the group workout numbers will remain at 10…. I’ll have more on this tomorrow

Laurens Academy Crusaders:

  • Crusaders Start Full Practice Next Week… The Laurens Academy Crusaders have been idle this week but that all changes next Monday… The Couth Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA) will allow its member schools to start normal football practice then… That means it will not be too long before you hear the sounds of pads popping at the Academy.

College Notes:

  • ACC Announces Football Plans… Yesterday the ACC announced 10+1 format for football for the upcoming season… Each team will play 10 conference games this season and will be allowed to schedule 1 non-conference game (can you say Clemson vs. South Carolina?)… The opening week for games will be the week of Sept 7-12 and season will end week of Nov. 30-Dec. 5…. That gives the schools a 13 week season… All non-conference game opponents, selected by the respective school, must be played in the home state of the ACC institution, and all non-conference opponents must meet the medical protocol requirements as agreed upon by the ACC … The ACC Football Championship Game will be played on either December 12 or 19 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, and will feature the top two teams based upon highest conference-game winning percentage as all teams will be in 1 division and not the normal 2… Clemson already knows which ACC schools they will face but the dates have not been set… For more information about this on the ACC website click here and from the Clemson website click here.

  • Season Restarts Tonight … Well after taking a break for a couple of months the NBA season will restart tonight… As the true NBA (Not really Basketball Association) fans know that 22 teams came back to the Orlando area and were placed in a “bubble” to get back into shape and plat some scrimmage games keeping them isolated from the general public… Well tonight the game will start counting toward their won-lost record as the teams sprint toward the playoffs… The games are being played at 3 at 3 venues across the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex… If you want to see the schedule for tonight and tomorrow and where to watch the games on TV click here.
