District 55 Trustees To Meet with New Public Attendance Policy

The Laurens County School District 55 Board of Trustees will meet at 6:30 next Monday evening with their new policy allowing limited public attendance at their meetings. Limited seating is available for persons to attend in person. Those wishing to do so must register thru an Eventbrite link that will be posted to the District 55 website: www.laurens55.org This link is to be posted to the website Monday between noon and 4:00 pm.  When the available seating is filled, registration will close.

Meanwhile, persons who wish to speak to the school board during the Public Participation portion of the meeting face an earlier deadline. A form requesting the ability to address the school board must be submitted to the District Superintendent’s Office by noon on meeting day. The district states that form is also available on the District 55 website.

District 55 will also continue to broadcast school board meetings with a live feed on You Tube. This is available through the District 55 website – Laurens55.org – and on the District 55 Facebook page.

The Laurens County District 56 School Board will also be meeting Monday evening. They are allowing the public to attend meetings, now being held in the auditorium of Clinton High School. After a 45-minute executive session at 6:45 Monday evening, the trustees will begin their meeting in open session at 7:30 Monday night. District 56 allocates fifteen minutes for public comment in their monthly meetings, with each speaker limited to three minutes.
