Laurens Academy:
- Crusaders have Change in Varity Schedule… The Crusaders have been forced to cancel the Laurens Academy Christmas Round Robin that was due to be played later this week due to a number of issues and a COVID situation… In place of the Round Robin, the Crusader varsity teams will play a non-region game on Tuesday December 29 at home vs. Greenwood Christian…. The girls’ game will start at 5:00 pm and the boys game at 6:30 pm… If all goes as scheduled the Crusaders first game in 2021 will be on Tuesday, Jan. 5th at Cambridge Academy
PC Notes:
Men’s Basketball… The PC men’s basketball team has a 2-2 record at this point of the season… They are a perfect 2-0 at home this season so far and have dropped 2 road games… They have canceled 1 game with Wofford and postponed 3 games that they hope to makeup later all due to COVID-19 situations…. - Wins… PC’s wins came against Carver College 85-46 and SC State 62-56 at home earlier this month… To see a recap of those games click on their scores.
- Losses… Their two losses were to Jacksonville University 65-78 and to the Citadel 82-94 both on the road… Again to see a recap of those games click on their scores.
- Next games… The team will be in action tomorrow and Thursday as they host the 3-5 Radford Highlanders in a pair of games at PC with tomorrow’s game scheduled to tipoff at 5:00 pm and Thursday’s game at 3:00 pm…. Both can be heard on the PC Broadcasting network and seen on ESPN+
- Men’s Basketball to be on ESPNU in January… Also a note that the Blue Hose will also have some of their games televised on ESPNU starting January 4th when they travel to UNC Ashville… For more on this story including dates that they can be seen click here.
Women’s Basketball… The PC women’s team is also 2-2 on the season and they also have had 3 games cancelled due to COVID-19 situations… To see their complete schedule click here.
- Wins… Their first win came at East Tennessee State University where they defeated the Bucs 68-38 and the second came at home a few days later at home where they took a 69-60 win over the Runnin Bulldogs of Gardner Webb… To see a recap of those games click on their scores.
- Losses… Now the day after taking the win over G-W the two teams played again at PC and this time G-W took a 44-47 win over the Blue Hose… PC’s first loss was to Clemson back on Nov. 27th at Littlejohn Coliseum where they fell 47-92… Again to see a recap of those games click on their scores.
- Next Games… The team will be back in action tomorrow and Thursday and just like the men’s team they will be taking on the Highlanders of Radford… The big difference here being they will be on the road with tomorrow’s game tipping off at 4:00 pm and Thursday’s game at 2:00 pm… Both games will be available on ESPN+

- Tae Kwon Do Returns to Laurens YMCA… Tae Kwon Do classes are returning to the Laurens Family YMCA starting on October 5, 2020… These classes are for youth 7-15 years old and are $25 per month… Classes will be held each Monday from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm… If you have more questions call the Y at 984-2626
